Curtain Raiser of Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition (SAJEX) held in Jeddah

Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), which is India’s apex export body for the gem and jewellery sector in association with Consulate General of India, Jeddah hosted the first leg of the Curtain Raiser for the Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition (SAJEX) 2025 at the Ritz Carlton, Jeddah on July 6, 2025.

2. The launch event was graced by Mr. Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, Consul General of India in Jeddah; Eng. Raed Ibrahim Almudaiheem, First Vice Chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Sheikh Ali Batarfi Al Kindi - President of the Jeddah Jewellery Association, along with Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC; Mr. Nirav Bhansali, Convener, National Exhibitions, GJEPC; and Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC and joined by senior industry leaders and stakeholders from both India and Saudi Arabia.

3. SAJEX, scheduled to take place from 11th to 13th September 2025 at the Superdome in Jeddah, is GJEPC’s flagship B2B initiative aimed at fostering trade and investment ties with Saudi Arabia and positioning the Kingdom as a key jewellery trading hub in the region.

4. In his address during the Curtain Raiser event, Consul General of India in Jeddah, Mr. Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, said; “SAJEX 2025 is more than just an exhibition - it is a symbol of the growing partnership between India and Saudi Arabia. With India’s legacy of jewellery craftsmanship and Saudi Arabia’s rising global influence in luxury retail, this platform sets the stage for a vibrant and collaborative jewellery ecosystem. The Consulate is proud to support this initiative that not only deepens bilateral trade but also showcases the power of cultural and commercial synergy.”

5. The First Vice Chairman of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce, Eng. Raed Ibrahim Almudaiheem, remarked that that; “A dedicated B2B jewellery exhibition like SAJEX is truly the need of the hour for Saudi Arabia. The Chamber is committed to supporting such initiatives that strengthen our trade ties and create new growth opportunities for our jewellery sector.”

6. Talking about SAJEX, Mr. Sheikh Ali Batarfi Al Kindi, President, Jeddah Jewellery Association expressed his happiness at SAJEX being in Jeddah and assured his full support in making this a long-term success.

7. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC, said, “SAJEX marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between India and Saudi Arabia in the jewellery sector. India, as the global hub for jewellery manufacturing, will proudly showcase its exceptional craftsmanship, cutting-edge design, and manufacturing expertise at this platform. The show will bring together over 200 leading exhibitors across 250 booths, representing key jewellery markets including Saudi Arabia, India, UAE, Turkey, Hong Kong, and Lebanon. It is expected to attract more than 2,000 international buyers. We believe SAJEX will unlock new trade opportunities, spark investments, and lay the foundation for a vibrant jewellery ecosystem with Saudi Arabia at its heart.”

8. Mr. Nirav Bhansali, Convener, National Exhibitions, GJEPC said, “SAJEX is not just about showcasing exquisite jewellery — it's about building meaningful bridges between two vibrant markets. By bringing 200 of India’s top exporters to Jeddah, GJEPC is laying the foundation for a deeper, more collaborative jewellery trade with Saudi Arabia, backed by shared innovation, design, and growth.”

9. The show will bring together over 200 leading exhibitors across 250 booths, representing key jewellery markets including Saudi Arabia, India, UAE, Turkey, Hong Kong, and Lebanon. It is expected to attract more than 2,000 international buyers. The product showcase will span a diverse range - from diamond and coloured gemstone-studded jewellery to 18kt, 21kt, and 22kt gold pieces, lab-grown diamond jewellery, bridal and gifting collections, and the latest in jewellery technology.

10. SAJEX will also offer curated highlights such as Knowledge Talks, Design Atelier, Curated Networking, Strategic Tie-ups, and the World Jewellery Investment Forum - creating a unique ecosystem for dialogue, innovation, and growth.

11. The Riyadh leg of the SAJEX launch campaign is scheduled for 8th July, continuing GJEPC’s efforts to engage key stakeholders across the Kingdom ahead of the main event in September.
